Tahiti would probably be its southern-hemisphere rival, but in terms of accessibility for Americans, Hawaii can’t be beat. Disclaimer is that it is generally more expensive than the Caribbean, and the water is cooler. So especially for those on the East Coast, going to the Caribbean (avoiding summer) can be a better value. Hawaii weather, breeze, air quality, humidity, bug situation, etc. is A+++. Yes, it’s more expensive, but damn does that mid Pacific weather just hit different. It’s strange how much a small difference can make. Hawaii is infinitely more comfortable than Florida, despite the humidity and temperature being relatively close. A consistent trade wind plus 5 degrees cooler and a few percent less humidity makes a huge difference. Florida people are the worst society has to offer even they would agree with that but my time in Hawaii I felt like they didnt want me there just tolerated because that is their economy.

Make sure you’re on the south or west side of the island. Also, don’t go in February. Went to Caribbean for the first time last year after growing up and living in Hawaii. Nothing beats that cool water dip in Hawaii after sweating on the beach in the sun. The Caribbean felt like bath water warm, which after being hot on the beach is not refreshing at all. I think Aruba wins most consistently perfect weather!! The coldest it’s ever been in the history of record keeping in Aruba is 19C!

Year around, it pretty much never drops below 75F/24C. In Hawaii, you often get a bit more fluctuation, with relatively-cool mornings and evenings. No. I went to Aruba and it has the worst of tropical weather (hot and humid) but with no rain as relief. I would argue Aruba weather actually sucks. Does not even compare to Hawaii. Would like to say that Aruba was the safest and friendliest island in this part of the world I have been on though. When parents were their for their 30th before COVID. They said there was no reprieve from the wind. It was like 20-30 MPH winds constantly. Wow so people have different weather and experiences at different times? It’s almost like no where has the best or worst weather of all time! The post is about places with consistently nice weather similar to Hawaii. Not really sure what you are getting at here. Haven’t been to Aruba but I’ve been to Bonaire which is right next door and I thought the same thing. It was a beautiful island and the water was great but god damn it was hot. Even at like midnight you step outside and just feel the sweat start forming on your forehead. The water was crystal clear but felt like stepping into a jacuzzi. Maui is a tropical paradise but so are the other islands. With Hawaii It’s not just the beaches. In a tiny area you have lush gardens, giant mountains, Volcanoes, whales, thousands of sea turtles, sharks, blue water, surfing, Black sand beaches, white sand beaches.

My late wife and I had a condo at Princeville Cliffs (Kauai) for almost 25 years. After she passed away, I could not bear to go there anymore and sold it. I love Hawaii, and for me, nothing else comes close. I did that for a couple of years, but it wrecked me. Every time I hit the runway in Hawaii, I cried like a little girl and literally could not walk the same paths she and I did. I spread her ashes at Maka’pu’u Point Lighthouse on Oahu, where my ashes will be spread and it is just too much for me. Wow. I’m so sorry for your loss. Yes. In the next life. I hope in this lifetime I can find a love like you did. I’m fortunate to have been able to travel extensively, which includes to many tropical paradises and world-class beaches. Ive seen so much, and yet Hawaii is without a doubt one of my absolute favorite destinations in the world for all the reasons you stated. It truly lives up to the hype and is a real treasure to experience. I go back regularly and as soon as I leave I’m already looking forward to the next time.
