Our office secret Santa is entirely voluntary and also has a gift limit. We used after this year, which basically lets you tag things on amazon and Etsy that you like (you can either buy one of the things on there, or use Grinch Horseshoe Merry Christmas shirt as inspiration) – as a result, I’m really pleased with my secret Santa, my secret Santa was happy with his, and we all had a good time. Although the MD forgot he’d signed up to secret Santa and had to just grab a random bottle of wine to wrap.

I don’t do secret Santa anymore. It only works if everybody buys. That’s kind of cool. I like the low prove and requirement that Grinch Horseshoe Merry Christmas shirt come from a thrift store. I’ll bet people can get some bad and awesome stuff. That would be fun. My friend’s gift that he once gave for a Yankee swap at his work was a framed drawing he drew of a guy opening a gift at a work x-mas party and being disappointed lmao. Apparently there were like CEO’s there and stuff; he was fired shortly after that. He always finished his work but he also made dinosaurs out of paperclips and worked on his album during work hours, so that stuff probably had something to do with it too.

In my experience, you can say it, and people might honor your preference, even. But just because you can say something, doesn’t mean you can salary Grinch Horseshoe Merry Christmas shirt. You will, subtly or overtly, be labeled a grinch and/or have to awkwardly sit there when the gift exchange is happening – so sometimes it’s not worth the outcome to opt-out. Stupid office politics. That’s why two of my colleagues and I (we are actual friends) exchanged gifts privately in the car park before heading into work so no one else would see or feel left out!
