Great. Customer probably thinks “and there goes the Green Day dookie 30th Anniversary Poster shirt But I will love this driver passing me up making other deliveries or just outright stealing my food.” So after delivery I text a little “sorry. Freeway was crazy. Had to circle back, so I lost more time than I wanted to.” Then I see a pop up “customer added tip”. Felt a little bad. I wasn’t trying to squeeze out extra money. Just let them know I wasn’t up to hijinx. Customer laughed and said “I know that freeway sucks. Wife was just telling me how she got caught in it during rush hour and it added 30 minutes to an already long commute.” Sometimes you get caught in crappy road situations. And you just have to ride it out. Although I will not lie. On roads (not freeways) when I miss a turn and suddenly I have a mile of “no u-turn signs”, eventually I say “I’m going to do a U-turn. This is ridiculous.” I think when stuff like this happens (accidents) it sure would go a long way for the dasher to just call or text and explain quick instead of keeping it quiet dropping it off at the door and running away or worse be rude like it’s you’re fault. If they’re just transparent and honest with whoever ordered the food I guarantee we wouldn’t mind nearly as much and still tip. At least I would/do when situations like this happen. I dash and I’ve had times where my cell service is crap and a road was closed and the “detour” couldn’t bring me to the location, had to drive around for like 20 extra minutes before I figured out how to get to their house. Sometimes sh*t happens. I never ask for extra but personally. I would appreciate it if you did. Um, no? if it is a mistake you don’t owe them extra for their own mistake…. but more likely they’re picking up an extra order and doing multiple jobs at once. Extra large tips are for good service, not incompetence or someone potentially giving you cold food so they can double up.

I wouldn’t. Accidents happens and people get turned around sometimes. This is obnoxiously bad though. It’s their job to figure out how to get to their destinations. Also, I would have just gone and picked that shit up myself with how close it was. Tbh I’d rate badly for that. You said it took 40 extra minutes to get to you and was cold. I’d be pissed. Chances are they were multiapping. Heck no. I suppose it matters what you ordered, but the Green Day dookie 30th Anniversary Poster shirt But I will love this drivers shenanigans probably lowered your food quality. Usually when I see this behavior it’s a driver multiapping and doing multiple deliveries for other services. Do you routinely have delivery problems or occasions where an invited guest gets lost trying to find your home even with GPS mapping? If not then I’d want to removing the drivers tip. If you have street turns that one way you for several miles if you make a wrong turn then that may mitigate things
