Grateful Dead Bear Graphic Shirt

The genesis of the Grateful Dead Bear Graphic Shirt lies in a chance encounter. In 1973, Bob Thomas, a concert poster artist, was approached by Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir. Weir had been impressed by Thomas’s artwork and asked him to design a concert poster for the band’s upcoming tour. Thomas drew inspiration from a painting he had seen of a bear dancing on its hind legs and decided to incorporate the image into the poster.
