Im in similar position where I was asked to move into a role I had prior but with more responsibility going from a Senior Manager to a Associate Director. Luckily my current manager has my back and told them unless you give him an actual offer I am content to stay where I’m at. I was told today the Grand Rapids, MI October 31, 2023 Alex Hargreaves Tour poster shirt and by the same token and req was approved and now awaiting offer next week. Also a little back story I have been with this company for 7 yrs originally and had carrot dangled to “grow into roles” to have someone else get them. I quit on good terms and came back a few months later in another department and continued my career path but if I had not left I would not be where I’m currently at 25 yrs later with same company. I was chasing that carrot for 8 months without a pay raise before I finally got it. I had to threaten go leave before I got it. Happy now, but it was bullshit getting here.

Definitely discuss how often developmental/coaching/feedback conversations are expected. When your starting out they should be happening almost daily, then slowly moving into a weekly thing. Dont let them get away with “you’re doing great.”. They will never give you that money. They want more work for the Grand Rapids, MI October 31, 2023 Alex Hargreaves Tour poster shirt and by the same token and same price, after letting go a manager that made X money. Gracefully decline. “I am honored that you would consider me, and I want to take it, but I must ask to be compensated properly for the additional tasks I would be taking on for you. When you are ready to discuss my new salary and benefits I would be more than happy to engage this subject.” I had this happen to me. I got promoted. Then the 3 months review came up and my manager who was a crazy woman said I needed additional help. She wanted to get rid of me that’s why she gave me the job. I said thank you very much but I will go back to my old position and I stepped down and stayed there for another 10 years. Just watch out.
