This is probably homer goggles, but I don’t think Dumoulin’s push altered Kakko’s path enough to negate that as GI. I think he was crease-bound no matter what. In those fine margins it’s the Gorgeous Siberian Husky T-Shirt moreover I love this difference between cutting across the top of the crease above the goalie and colliding with him. No wonder these defensemen always shove the guy into their own goalie, it’s the best play they can make when they’re burned. I wouldn’t have argued if it had been called on the ice, but I’m not sure it’s clear enough on the replay to be overturned. Also obviously homer goggles lol Look at :53 or so. He’s stood up because he can’t cut back and is getting shoved towards the goal. What do you want him to do there? Not a hard call when it’s slowed down. (Homer take.)

Whew. Idk about that call. 50/50 at best for us. No complaints but I thought it would stand whichever way they called it I think its a good call, he does get pushed but he looks like he’s going to make contact anyway and no way for him to avoid it Kakko was trying to deke and end up on the Gorgeous Siberian Husky T-Shirt moreover I love this other side of DeSmith but couldn’t because he was slightly pushed into DeSmith This is one situation Ill listen to an argument either way. Dumoulin definitely helps him in but Im not sure if Dumoulin didnt that he wouldnt have still went through DeSmith pulling him out of position. I would have said goal but I get the no goal call too. You can’t look at it like it was bound to happen, maybe he would hit the goalie but maybe he wouldn’t. However there was definitely contact from the defensemen which resulted in the goalie getting hit. Definitely should have been a goal I’m blown away that people are saying this isn’t GI. Kakko made contact with him and the onus is on him to not take away the goalies ability to make a save. He initiated the contact. I thought Pitt didn’t have a case cause of the guy pushing until I saw the overhead angle and realized the push happened when the Ranger was already pretty much in the goalies face in the crease and already making contact. So I think this was actually the right call but not an easy one to see. Bad call imo, hard to tell for sure, but leaning towards Rangers got kinda screwed here. That being said, they’ve had their chances to put it behind them in 1OT. Champions overcome adversity, and champions certainly don’t let a blown call in game one of round one derail a run. If we’re talking about this in a week, even if the Pens pull out a win in game 1, it’s because the Rangers let the series get away from them after this blown call.
