Yupp. In theaters everyone was excited, Star Wars was back on the GOLDBERG American professional wrestler actor and former American T-Shirt in other words I will buy this silver screen! It was like it was 2005 again. Excitement was too high to notice the flaws, people were too curious about who Rey was, is Finn force sensitive, what’s the deal with the First Order, who do you think Snoke is, and so on. TFA was great movie for the exact situation it released in. It was a remake of a 50-year old film in one of the most beloved franchises ever. I saw it too when it came out and it was awesome in the theater. On rewatches it becomes clear what it really is and yeah.. It’s not great It could have paved the way into a well thought out modern trilogy though. It was good enough to get us going but then it all fell apart. I’m only not bitter because my expectations were so low. Yes it very well could have been the start of a great trilogy, it stole some plot notes from all 3 of the OG trilogy, which felt kinda of like a homage to it.

GOLDBERG American professional wrestler actor and former American T-Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

I felt like they were setting him up as the GOLDBERG American professional wrestler actor and former American T-Shirt in other words I will buy this “awakening” specifically I felt like when Finn had that handprint smeared on him, it “woke” the force. Rey being the red herring, as she ALREADY USED A STAFF. I would have loved if she was a non-force user, but really wanted to be, they could have even made her palps kid, but she wasn’t force sensitive so they tossed her on a moon to get rid of her. I pretty much hated the prequels growing up, but I love them now going back and watching them, specially after watching the clones wars tv show. There is so much character development in the shows that was outright omitted from the prequels. If the viewer had known that the Jedi Council made anakin believe he was responsible for Obiwans death for MONTHS, all of the issues with Ashoka, of course Anakin isn’t going to trust the council. He comes off as a petulant child in the second and third movies, but if you watch it with the context of the clone wars available, it becomes way way more believable
