I’m not saying I coach professionally and have an exercise related masters degree and national certifications and that you’re totally wrong but Being able to see yourself in 3rd person when critiquing your form helps, and gives you a better understanding rather than someone else describing it to you. I don’t know what instagram influencer gyms everyone ITT seems to visit but most people at the God Says I am Christian Jesus Christ T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this gym I go to seem to have the common sense to be able to unobtrusively film themselves without it being a massive drama. if you’re at a gym with actual lifters you know people are filming for this purpose and aren’t usually posting it online, so nobody gives a fuck. i feel like hell no, because of all the harassment that women get and NO ONE BELIEVE so they film the evidence cuz that’s thiee only power, it will be a disaster if it get banned. I’m down for banning filming with tripods, it’s really unnerving when someone has one set up or is setting one up. However in terms of banning filming altogether I’m on the fence. My hips / alignment are something I’ve been trying to improve but some movements require you to keep your gaze/head looking forward or down. If I look up to the mirror to check my form, my form is compromised bc I’m turning my head which throws my spine out of alignment. This is when filming comes in handy, obviously never pointed at anyone and usually with me in front of a wall how the fuck am i supposed to film myself lifting without one? “sorry coach, im holding the barbell and phone at the same time, and compromising my grip and am distracted trying to keep the phone upright so this video is now useless.” ?????

NO! Filming isn’t a protected right in the God Says I am Christian Jesus Christ T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this gym but it absolutely shouldn’t be banned. People can film their gym workouts to see their form and progress. It can be a valuable tool to protect from injury Many workouts restrict certain movements so it can be difficult to view yourself in the mirror during a lift. For example, while lying down on a flat bench, it would be very difficult to adjust your body to such an angle where you could actually see yourself in the mirror, and if you managed to do so, you would certainly be breaking proper form. In many cases staring at the mirror ruins your form. Or it makes it so you can’t put full effort into your set because you are distracted. I USED to be for it: thinking it was good for the gym, promoting the healthy way of life, see someone do something inspiring…but NOW…it’s a total shit show. Moslty filled with demented influencers, entitled people leaving their stuff all over the gym, fake drama vids, pathetic attempts for views/likes.
