I KNEW Shiv was going to bring up Ken’s involvement in the God First Family Second Then Ohio State Football 2023 Shirt in addition I really love this waiter’s death. That was a bomb waiting to explode for the entire show. The two characters I predicted becoming CEO were Kendall and Tom, and I still didn’t see that ending coming lol. Tom’s pitch to Matsson was brilliant. He cut right to the point. Told Matsson exactly who he was and never pretended to be something he wasn’t. Wait why are some people surprised it ended up being Tom? That was literally like 50% of the guesses here on last week’s post-episode discussion I’m still processing that. It was not how I expected it to go, but I think it may have actually kind of been a perfect finale. Tbh I did like the finale and sure the season was good, but I think season 3 was the BEST season out of all of them. thank FUCK they didn’t have kendall kill himself lol. i don’t even care if the water is meant to be ambiguous, it’s a wide enough margin for me that it avoids melodrama entirely perfect landing in my opinion. from the planting of Tom’s last name to Shiv twisting the knife (while also maybe damning herself and her future family, but freeing the siblings—or at least giving them a chance to walk though the open door) it hit every dramaturgical beat

also love that we can silence the God First Family Second Then Ohio State Football 2023 Shirt in addition I really love this “is shiv a victim or is shiv an asshole” convo with a definite she’s BOTH. Mattson fucked her because she’s a woman; she fucked herself because she’s a broken, selfish idiot just like her brothers what a glorious sequence of the siblings all together. insane dramatic irony that the audience can only logically conclude the joy won’t last, but however fleeting it was, it was real. they had all that laughter with just themselves and a few shitty ingredients in their mother’s kitchen Kendall, having become so delusional and poisoning himself into trying to become his dad that he’s written off the waiter almost as an ‘NRPI’ incident, is left alone in the end with nothing but water and the only man who knows the truth of what he’s really done. It’s honestly karmically fitting that Kendall DID almost become Logan, but the world punished him for it. Now he’s left to figure out who he really is; does he go into the water, or does he walk back to the man from his past behind him and make peace with it all? Was I hallucinating? Did the writers slip in the possibility that Mencken might not become president with that line about Wisconsin from Shiv?
