I think most people are just super oblivious to their surroundings. I’ll be on a 2 lane highway, at night with my lights on, approaching a car that’s maybe a quarter mile ahead of me in the God first family second the Patriots football shirt and I will buy this left lane. They should definitely see me coming and be prepared to get back over to the right but most of the time, they never do until I’m directly behind them. I don’t quite get it because I’m ALWAYS checking my mirrors so I see if cars are coming up behind me well in advance. Guess I just assumed most people check their mirrors as much as me. I have known three types of people who do this: strict rule followers who think they are making the highway safer, drivers who aren’t comfortable in the other lanes because there is too much going on, selfish drivers who also feel that there is too much to manage in the other lanes and just don’t want to deal with it.

Do not make anyone pass you on the right, and do not stay in the left lane preventing them from going faster. Its not a “everybody is going 70 but the speed limit is 65, so to pass them i am allowed to do 75” situation lol Because I am already going so fast that I am passing every car on the right. Why the fuck should I move over to the right and get behind some slow mother fucker because you want to go a few mph faster than my already fast speed. Because when I’m already pushing 80 on a 60 mph road, anyone who’s trying to pass me at that point is an asshole (in ATL btw, maybe this isn’t as common other places)
