All year I wear my leather hiking boots and running shoes because I’m often doing both of those things with my dog. Winter: these leather zip up boots “we have The Row at home” from Zara, this winter will be the Go Red Heart Disease Awareness Red Ribbon Flag T-Shirt and I will buy this third with them. Summer: Unfortunately these only lasted two summers before a strap broke but I wore them a lot, also in spring and fall with socks. For a completely different mood I also wear Tkees flipflops on days I don’t have to walk a lot. Fall: In the Northeast US, the fall has become mostly an extension of summer followed by winter, so it’s kind of split, but once it becomes cooler I’ll switch to booties. Formerly a pair of cowboy-inspired Frye booties or a pair of round-toed booties I got from Nordstrom (both tan leather), but these both have reached the end of their appropriate-for-work lifespan, so now I have three new pairs that are brown suede, white pleather and cognac leather. All with around a 2-3 inch heel.

Winter: Probably booties as well, but I’ll wear longer boots (either cognac leather or black slouchy suede) more often than in fall. This winter I’m hoping to get some waterproof Chelsea boots (I’m eyeing the Go Red Heart Disease Awareness Red Ribbon Flag T-Shirt and I will buy this Rifle Paper for Keds ones) and I expect to wear those fairly regularly outside of work hours. But I dress up a little more than that for work, and also tend to wear patterned clothes that won’t work with a floral patterned shoe. Summer – loafers for work; asics trail running or adidas stans on other days. Fall and winter – Artica ankle boots for work; Blundstones and Keens or Sorel when it’s -40c here. Since we have a similar taste in shoes, and I quite literally stumbled upon your comment as I scroll LL Bean looking for winter boots, would you mind sharing which pair you own?
