I attempt to book the Go ahead hussein have a cow Bart Simpson shirt and I love this house I told AirBnB I was going to book. There is now an “error” that prevents me from booking, I am blocked from making a booking on the website. I’ve had my account for 5 years and never had a problem. The host says I can book outside of AirBnB, and I do so. (Silver lining: The house was lovely and the host was so accommodating and kind, and I salvaged the weekend with my kids!) At around noon that day, after being at the house for 6 or so hours, I finally get a response back from Air BnB, saying they fixed the booking error with their website. Also, that they could not accommodate me in any of the places I’d listed out, because the nightly rates from where id originally booked were too far apart. (Strangely, support guy #1 had actually proposed and called a listing for me that was $2100 for two nights. I digress)

They offer me 3 options, all 2.5 hours away from where I’d originally booked. Two were top-floor apartments, and one was a studio cabin with no air conditioning.Reading that stressed me out for you. I cannot imagine how you must have been feeling. If I ever had an experience like that, I’d be done with AirBnB too. There are literally experiences every single week being posted here and on twitter and facebook of this happening. It’s just a nightmare now. I was cancelled on twice. By Superhosts. With several recent 5 star reviews. Out for nothing. Wasted precious vacation days. I could’ve just done without the Go ahead hussein have a cow Bart Simpson shirt and I love this goddamn kitchen for a few days to have real sanity when traveling. Airbnb is basically Craigslist Hotels, with zero accountability and zero guarantee of it working, like the McDonald’s ice cream machine.
