Donating to charity through a business campaign is a perfectly fine way to donate to charity. This is a perfect example of that narrative of a guy seeing an ad for guitar lessons, and getting livid because he doesn’t want guitar lessons. If that’s true then they would get better PR and tax breaks from donating food. They pretty universally take a cut from the charity as a fee for allowing them to operate there. Don’t kid yourself. The “PR” of a ten second question on a checkout screen isn’t buying shit. But that million dollar check they get in kickbacks for allowing the charity to use their payment processing? Tada, easy money.
