They knew you had the Georgia Bulldogs Vs Vanderbilt Commodores Rivalry Go Dawgs 2023 Shirt Besides,I will do this right experience they just wanted to see if they could Jedi Mind Trick you into not believing in yourself. The correct response to “we will hire you for half the salary everyone else is getting” is to say “no, I make what the title normally gets or you can’t have me.” You should counter $90k. I’m sure since you’re already doing it, they’d accept it. Stay there for a year, wait for your yearly appraisal to get a new base, then start looking for a similar role with the new title elsewhere. It could be you have less experience than they really want for the position. Make sure it’s the company range and not the LinkedIn algorithm. I would ask for 80% of the range if it is. I wouldn’t expect you to be at a 1.0 compa ratio that a lot of companies target for(market average). For just coming into the role I don’t think 80% is out of line. I do comp for a living.

OK, yeah, the Georgia Bulldogs Vs Vanderbilt Commodores Rivalry Go Dawgs 2023 Shirt Besides,I will do this next thing to do is to check the salary and level of the role internally, i.e. how it is listed in the internal HR systems / internal job postings. The reason is that I am guessing that it is being posted at one or two levels above where you are currently, or the PM is in a completely different salary band with different ranges than the role you currently hold. A promotional increase is often maxed/capped at some percentage in many firms, so they are giving you that. Managers are frequently powerless to fight this, but sometimes use bonuses to offset, as that is freer to disburse. You can also request a six month review based on the “special circumstances” and see where that gets you. But you are swimming against the current, be warned.
