I was going to offer East Jesus, which is the Gale The Legendary Wizard Of Waterdeep Art shirt in addition I really love this semi-homeless encampment at the Salton Sea near the bizarre Holy Mountain earthworks sculpture area. Had a friend who cracked and moved out there, robotics guy who just left it all behind one day. And oof, was that A Trip. It’s huddled in the triangle of land between the Sea, a super max prison, and a US military weapon testing area. I probably shaved a year off my life just visiting. There was a bunch of guys there who made their living trespassing into the active military area and stealing used ordinance for the metal. They’d pick up the dropped bombs, no matter the size or shape, and sell them to a shady guy over in Nevada who only cared that it was a certain grade of material. Not one of those dudes still had all their fingers.

East Jesus is a trip. On one end is the Gale The Legendary Wizard Of Waterdeep Art shirt in addition I really love this queer, arty, anarchist camp, and the other was a neo nazi camp. I stayed a couple nights there and explored Slab City, dip in the accidental hot spring and inhale the putrid glory of Salton Sea. I didnt notice when I was there, but I was told the beach at Salton is mostly broken up fishbone and make for nasty splinters. That area of California holds one of the largest reserves of lithium, a key component tin the manufacture of electric vehicle batteries. I went to Coachella its very first year, and my broke friend and I camped at the Salton Sea. Dead fish clogged the shore. It was a surreal weekend lol. “And, they’ll have learned their lesson, and won’t let a zillion acre-feet of irrigation water go to waste running in here again?”
