What did the government do? They turned a blind eye and let all the violence happen until the evening of May 4 when they imposed CRPF personals all over the capital. The meiteis commandos that were stationed in kuki localities did nothing and just watched the meitei mobs attacking and burning down houses. It was because of this very issue, the kukis lost trust in the commandos and police and had to resort to using arm themselves in case if meitei mobs comes to attack churchandpur because they know the state govt is no longer on their side.
