My suggestion: you and your husband take the Funny vasilije Micic Serbian professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets T-Shirt besides I will buy this younger couple to dinner. You pay, and you absolutely refuse to let the younger couple contribute. Have a dinner in which you keep the conversation at the level you want it. Talk about work, career development, and keep it friendly but professional. Keep the alcohol consumption moderate. Talk about the industry and opportunities. Absolutely do tell them you are happy for them in a way that makes it clear that you are happy to help your coworker navigate new families and jobs, but then tell the fiancé he should find someone at his workplace that can help him. The particular text you quoted would make me think he is paranoid about his fiancee’s potential behaviour on an upcoming bachelorette trip where he will not be around, and is trying to get you on “his side” so you will stop her from going too far with a stripper or something. If the other texts are in the same vein, I’d say it’s a trust issue between the two of them, and has nothing to do with you personally.

Right. So why pull in another person? Why obligate OP by texting? Is the Funny vasilije Micic Serbian professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets T-Shirt besides I will buy this intent behind the texting control or, at a minimum, snooping? It is uncomfortable for OP because the texts seem like more than a friendly “Hey how’s it going in your world”. Yes, I agree. That’s the vibe I got. It’s not about her personally, but he is making it her problem, which he shouldn’t. I do think her gut feeling that something is weird is correct, just not for the reason she thinks. I disagree with all the people saying “he’s just being friendly, everything is fine”. But I don’t think he’s coming on to her, which I thought she implied since she brought up her married status. He’s being controlling of his fiancee/ OP’s friend. You never gave him your number. It’s weird, and it’s inappropriate. Good hearted or not, he knows what he is doing, and if your husband or a peer were to tell him it’s not appropriate, he being the good guy he is, would stop immediately. If he did not, then we all understand this assignment. You are not old, you are in a committed relationship. A marriage, And you have a gut that tells you things. Glad to see some people still have backbones hearts and moral compasses!
