My cats cause mild sleep deprivation which makes me useless at work some days. You’re not a jerk to put them outside. Sleep is important! 🙂 I feel lucky to have a girl who’s never gotten night time zoomies, very respectful of sleeping people also never wakes me for food but will patiently sit on the Funny trump Mugshot Criminal T-Shirt moreover I will buy this desk in my room staring at me ready to remind me it’s time for breakfast. Oh but the best part is I could sleep 8 alarms and get up to the 9th and she wouldn’t start her breakfast screams till I’ve taken my blanket off. I lock my cat out of the bedroom at night. I need to sleep at night so I can go to work and buy him food. He disagrees. So, we compromise and he gets the house to himself at night while I get to sleep. Mine gets locked into the kitchen when I go to bed otherwise she comes in and sits on my (asthmatic) chest. Don’t feel guilty.

Cats are all about boundaries. A cat will not respect or like you if you don’t respect their boundaries. On the Funny trump Mugshot Criminal T-Shirt moreover I will buy this flipside, a cat will walk all over you if you don’t set your own boundaries. It’s okay to set a boundary that you need sleep. Malcolm might be kinda pissed but he will get over it. We have four cats, are die hard cat lovers, but our dog is the only one who stays in the room at night. It’s for our sanity and I think it helps the cats settle down for the night too. Girl, nah. Our boys were 7 (years!) before they could be chill enough at night to be allowed in the bedroom. That isn’t to say shenanigans don’t still happen, like tail-chasing–on my body–at 1am, but for the most part they behave. Seven. Years. our cat does not respect our sleep. she is not allowed in the bedroom. she protests a bit but she eventually goes to sleep as well. nothing wrong with boundaries.
