Actually the few Millennial friends I know who are homeowners (at least in California), have a little more money with a trust fund and parents who put most of all the down payment for the house. But hey, I don’t blame them. My parents have done pretty well but if they were wealthy to the point where they could buy me a house you’re goddamn right I’d take it. Society is a sinking ship and you gotta take whatever lifeboat you can find.

You are not a home owner if your net worth is 128k. At best you might own a small portion of a house that the bank owns. Whoever put this together is a complete Idiot. Networth is calculated by subtracting liabilities (debt) from assets. To have a positive net worth, as shown, there are no dedts. No money owed on student loans. I just love people the openly and loudly demonstrate their stupidity. Averages are easily skewed. If you have ten people but two are worth 10 million dollars and the other 8 are worth 20k, the average wealth of them all is still in the millions even though 80% of them are broke af A shite article. No way is that the average American millennial. I know just 2 out of plethora of friends. Those two are on their second or third marriage with a kids. Came from a neighborhood that BOTH parents had no High School Diploma. And was able to feed three kids and pay bills. This was 90s. Working class and Low Income Americans can’t even survive today. INSANE.
