I was a McDonald’s manager in when I was studying and you have to to take your full break. It is in your contract and it is explained to you. If you choose not to use your full 45 minutes then it leads to issues because there is no such thing as unlimited OT. The circumstances for OT are super niche and you can’t just decide to do OT randomly during a shift, it creates problems, a manager has to ask you to do it. They shouldn’t be adjusting your time card so you do need to discuss that with them but you also shouldn’t be deciding to do OT and take shorter breaks without speaking to a manager first.

And than she wouldn’t let me go home after. I uh.. got her in a LOT of shit for that, pun intended. She got reprimanded HARDCORE; you can’t stop people from using the toilet, man. Same manager liked to make the teenage girl employees cry… she always went after other women. One time this poor girl was trying to keep up in the coffee station; you probably know what I’m talking about. headset, drive thru, taking orders and making drinks. It was bad; she accidentally started a pot of coffee over an already full pot, and this bitch took her into the back and she came out crying; didn’t know how to explain WHY what the manager said made her cry but the gist was ‘ well I put you there because I thought you could handle it and I’m really ashamed and embarrassed I thought so highly of you!’ She stuck me in the girls’ position and I was helping her clean up the coffee while doing my stuff/taking orders, as I had the experience, and this woman had the AUDACITY to tell me to stop helping her/let her clean it up, and I was just like ‘why?’ ‘because she made the mess’ ‘we’re a team and she clearly needs support and help right now so I’m going to help her.’ And that was when she pulled the poor girl into the office; I took that shit above her head so fast.. It’s one thing if you’re being shitty to me, but to literally like the sweetest kid ever?? Come on! I can’t stand seeing adults picking on children like high school bullies, man.)
