Having kids when you didn’t want them in the first place. I’m not making that mistake. Growing up to “I wish I never had kids!” Or “You ruined my life” takes a toll on a kid. overshare about super inappropriate topics (like complaining about lack of sex between them, confessing to cheating etc.) I will never tell them they should lose weight, but if needed I will help them by supporting and encourage them. Im not planning to to have children but something I do with my youngest cousin is I just believe them. I was never trusted with my feelings, situations that happens or even with my dreams so I just stopped talking about nearly anything. I always make sure that them know I would believe, trust and listen to them no matter what I didn’t beat my children, or ever say “because I said so”. There was always a reason, explanation, etc. Understanding why something is wrong helps immensely in my opinion. My parents made me feel guilty for being bullied as a kid. They gave me the usual “advice” not to listen, to ignore the bullies, and to be the “bigger person” and I know that they probably didn’t believe what I told them happened daily. Frustrated by my crying and coming home with bruises and all that, sometimes they scolded me publicly and even hit me once or twice.

As a result, as an adult, I’m not able to seek help and my whole relationship with conflict and truth is twisted and massively fucked up.
