We’ve got two couples in our friend group who don’t have kids. They are always on holiday, going to events and just living their life as they want to. Destructive first marriage, basically recreated the chaos of a rough childhood. A bad business patch in my early 30s. Between the two, I was totally wiped out, actually went backwards. Had to start over from scratch financially.

Things are good now. I feel like things are going well. I can take care of myself, hit some financial goals. I ended up in a wonderful and healthy marriage, better than I could have imagined. Finally bought a house. I’m finally in a great career place. I needed therapy, and time, and working on myself, building some career assets, and healing from all kinds of things. Honestly, I couldn’t have made it work with kids. I couldn’t have put my life back together and have taken care of a mini-human. Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like to have kids, but it requires imagining a completely different, much easier life than the Funny justice Hyperdrama cross shirt besides I will buy this one I actually had. 40+, single… never had that feeling of wanting to have a kid. Personally I’m good! I do wonder about my family… but they have never given me a hard time. I now have my ‘adopted’ nieces and nephews because of friends…. I’m good with that! 33f, (partner is 30m) and I’m still extremely, extremely happy with my decision to be child-free as I watch my peers pop out their 2nd or 3rd. I’ve travelled 11 countries, lived in 3, and will probably get to see and do even more travel coming up soon. Their lives look boring AF compared to mine tbh and I’m just happy I chose to love myself and make myself the priority instead of children and I highly doubt I’ll ever regret that. I’m 40, partner is 41. Been together 21 years. No regrets. We can sleep in, sit on the couch all day or go on trips whenever we want. 100% can recommend Mid fifties. Married 21 years. No kids. No real regrets. Sometimes I wonder what having adult children would be like but I probably would have hated parenting until they were at least middle school aged.
