Don’t tell them where you will be working next and there’s nothing your current company can do to hurt you in the Funny i always love you Niall Horan shirt in other words I will buy this future Do you feel they’re intentionally giving you all the bad tasks so that you quit and can’t receive unemployment? Talk to your boss directly about this. Tell them you feel you’re being discriminated against for your intention to quit and punished for giving a final date of employment that they’re taking advantage of. One, he’s got a job literally set up for Monday. He doesn’t need unemployment. Two, they can give him whatever jobs they want until he leaves. It’s not “discrimination” to give a current employee work tasks. Just do as little as humanely possible. Call out sick if you have sick time earned. Youre in a unique position where they literally can’t do shit to you or tell you what to do. Do what you feel like doing, which could be nothing. You will no longer have ANY relationship with them in a few weeks…act like it

Will it affect your new job? Unlikely – unless they file criminal charges/civil action against you. They don’t need a leg to stand on to SLAPP you – just money & retained counsel. Just keep your documentation: “Respectfully, I decline to do this since the Funny i always love you Niall Horan shirt in other words I will buy this sweet lil ol lady has met the terms of the contract. I’d like guidance from Legal before I make the call.” You can drag this out for weeks without having to take concrete action. Friday rolls around: “Darn – I didn’t get to it.” Remember. A 2 weeks notice is only necessary if you ever want to work at THAT SPECIFIC COMPAMY again. If you hate it, then just leave if you can. be careful if calls are recorded doing anything malicious. If her debt is legally uncollectable because of their mistake, they might be setting you up to undermine the company collections. I don’t know the state laws or employment contract, but a recorded call where a current employee is directly hindering employers ability to collect a debt could be actionable in a lot of different ways up to breaking a law. I am unsure but I would be careful being handed a potential minefield at the end of a two week notice. i would have called her and given her a heads up, as well as some ways to tell them to fuck off and leave her alone definitevely and with finality. If you’re a collector just violate the FCRA and collection rules. And tell her exactly which ones you just violated. 1000$ per incident i believe is the legal amount she can collect. You have 2 days. That will cover the 2k for her.
