I did this for a few weeks before he confronted me about it. He said I am supposed to leave at 5pm, to which I said no, I start at 8am. He then said we all do 9 hour days with 1 hour lunch break, so if I come in at 8am then I should be leaving at 5pm. I said my contract with the Funny dead & co grateful rock and roll symbol skull T-Shirt and I love this business is 38 hours a week, which is 9am-5pm, but I have moved my shift one hour earlier, which means 8am-4pm which he and my supervisor said I could start work at. Then I said if my working hours need to be modified we can negotiate a new contract and a new salary based on the new expectations. He said nothing back, but he did bring it up again 2 more times over the next 3 months but I just kept repeating that last line (About new contract and new salary) and he eventually just stopped asking about it.

What are they trying to do? Get me to start working with them and then after signing a contract try and get an extra 5 hours a week out of me? Sure everyone else in the Funny dead & co grateful rock and roll symbol skull T-Shirt and I love this office might do that, but not me. 7 – 3 is pretty normal in Germany, because it means you get done early in the day and have the afternoon to do things you like. It’s good for offices to have end of day coverage. There’s no good reason everyone has to be on exactly the same hours. Yeah but OP, you have to acknowledge that this is a bigger problem. Night owls have always been perceived as lazier than morning larks. Imho, it has something to do with protestant work ethic as a concept. My compant had “working hours” from 9-4 and it was up to you to hit 8 hrs at either end. They kifted the 4pm boundary so I go in at 7 to go home sooner. I got shit to do at home. Amen. I hate how this society is dominated by the early birds. If I could have it my way, I’d start at 11 and finish
