This is missing a key point of context. The senate first instituted the funny America flag and gun a job working for a weapons manufacturing shirt but in fact I love this nuclear option in November 2013 when led by democrat majority leader harry reid. Not to be a dick, but the rules change for judicial nominees was done by the democrats. At that time McConnell said that we would live to regret it. Democrats let’s learn our lesson and not put our dick in that particular mouse trap again. Republicans have a natural advantage in the senate. A rule change hurts us not them. Can we push through serious voting reform as well? If feel like long term that’s what is gonna sink or float this shit show of a country… It was the Dems (lead by Harry Reid) not the GOP who ended the filibuster for federal judicial nominees (at the time it was called the nuclear option due to it’s ramifications for the future). It was the GOP that was able to get their SCOTUS nominees pushed thru because of the Dems actions in ending that particular filibuster.

Pretty naive to the funny America flag and gun a job working for a weapons manufacturing shirt but in fact I love this background of Bernie’s statement so can someone please explain this to me? The GOP ended fillibuster to pack the court but then voted to reinstate later? If that’s true, why can’t Democrats do the same after Roe is codified? I don’t get how the fillibuster was gone for a time being and why it’s now back in place… And then forevermore when a party has control over Congress and the Presidency, even by the slimmest margin, they will pass an omnibus bill that undoes every agenda item that the other party wants. They don’t have the votes so I don’t know besides going on the record what the reason for the vote besides making it look like they are doing something.
