I’m currently working on becoming a therapist. One of the Fry Your Brain With The Maine Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this things that I am convinced of, and have been actively trying to convince my cohort of, is that if we don’t advocate for policy changes and system overhauls, then none of the good that we might do for an individual will matter. Fixing a problem doesn’t mean anything if you don’t address the root issues. We cannot just sit back and do nothing with policy and call ourselves ethical practitioners. This sub for sure teeters on some issues but this comes across more as you shouldn’t be taking care of your mental health and fuck that message. I have my PhD in experimental psychiatry. I am also DID from a childhood of extreme sa, being trafficked for sex as a child. There is no cure for DID. Yes, I do take meds, and I am in therapy. I am also broke AF, and contemplate suicide every day. More money would make me less stressed. Less pressure to produce so the bills get paid. Money isn’t going to make me happy. Money lets me exchange my work for those things that alleviate my distress. Mainly drugs. But if I tell the electric company to go pound sand, or the sanitation company here are my home grown veggies, and I can help you with your term papers, they will laugh at me and turn my water and sewer off.Ken Follet – Pillars of the Earth is about building cathedrals and how generations of families could work on and grow with the project. It would literally grow a town into a city so there was a lot of competition for them. To die before seeing something you worked so hard to complete is such an ancient thing now. Today anything can be finished with the amount of tech we have so quickly now. You say anything can be finished quickly with tech in 2023? We have something to grow tree roots across a span to form a bridge quickly now? Pretty sure bonsai still take forever too. There are a lot of local documentaries, apparently. Mostly on the matrilineal character of the tribe, but I’m sure there’s some more about the bridges out there somewhere.

It helps when you remember how long it could take to build large bridges from stone. The Charles Bridge in Prague, for example, took 45 years. The famous London Bridge took 33 years. There was one building, I think in the Fry Your Brain With The Maine Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this Vatican, where the architect in charge died, and no one knew how to finish it until the dudes son/grandson figured out how to construct the dome Similar story with the Sagrada Familia in Barca, after Gaudí died they weren’t able to finish the plans until the advent of computers. I’m on in years and finding something I’ve never heard of or even imagine existed is precious to me. Thanks, OP! “Sadly, 10 of the 350 bridges have been visited by tourists from Mississippi and North Carolina and are now gone.” I was impressed when I learned peoppe trained vines to look and act like trees. I don’t know what word to use for this. What a great story. Can’t believe I’ve never heard of these. Seems like they’re in good hands with the khasi people.
