So we basically have to learn to see our videos as other people see them, and critique our own videos. When I watch other people’s videos, I have a pretty good idea of how many views a video gets, before looking at the view count. Not perfect. There are outliers. But it’s generally possible to tell by looking at a video whether other people will like it or not. However, when looking at my own videos, I always severely over-rate them 😛 It’s very hard to see one’s videos in the way others see them. I think half of the skill in becoming a youtuber is to learn and hone the skill of seeing our videos the way other people see them, perhaps?

It’s very common for a person to be delusional or in denial and see their own creations in an optimistic light. The reality is, quality scales with time, effort, budget, opportunity.
