Well, first off congrats on being able to afford a home, that’s seriously incredible in today’s economy Freddy Krueger vs Jason Voorhees Holding Jordan 5 Daaamh vector shirt Besides,I will do this so props. Second, I would sit down with your wife and have a serious talk about how these houses are clearly out of your budget by a long-shot, but that you see how she could find them appealing (I mean who wouldn’t want a 1.4 mil home, right?). Ask her what about these over budget houses appeals to her specifically. Figure out what it is she likes about them. Maybe she really wants a nice kitchen (god knows I do). Maybe she wants a super nice living room to host. Maybe she wants a killer master bedroom/bath. Who knows? Find out what it is she really sees as “WOWZA” in these non-acceptable homes and start seeking homes that fit in your budget that may appeal to that desire.

I think it was right after I bought my condo my dad started sending me random postings in the Freddy Krueger vs Jason Voorhees Holding Jordan 5 Daaamh vector shirt Besides,I will do this middle of nowhere that were all for around $300k. Cheap places way under my budget. But I have literally no need to buy a 5 bedroom, 3 story, 7k square foot home in Wisconsin when I live in California. Before we bought our house, my wife used to do the same thing. It was her hobby to house hunt on Zillow. Some of them were just pure fantasy, like other states, or twice our budget for buying a home. But she’d jump in with both feet, researching the neighborhood, schools, valuation history, etc. For her it was just fantasy daydreaming that she liked to indulge in. A pleasant “what if?”. Maybe your wife is doing the same? I don’t blame OP’s wife. In a lot of markets, the $500-600k houses do suck or are in the worst locations. Maybe they could borrow from family to cover the stretch.
