Only you know your motivations here, and to me, this doesn’t read like you trying to one-up anyone. This is a really lovely thing to do, and frankly if your colleagues decide to gossip/take issue, it says a lot more about them. It’s not our business or their’s what you choose to spend the For Some There’s Therapy For The Rest Of Us There Are Motorcycles Vintage T-Shirt in contrast I will get this money you earn on. OP could also just lie and say they were on the receiving end for charitable Christmas gifts, and this is their way of giving back. Or just be honest and say this is something they are passionate about. I disagree with everyone saying to claim friends and family pitched in. You’ve done something very kind and generous, take the praise for it and as long as you’re not a smug prick about it nobody will think you’re an asshole Just wanted to add that you could just say something like “This cause means a lot to me so I really wanted to help out” Can’t imagine many people could argue with that

You have got a kind heart. It doesn’t matter what other people think. You are making a difference to some child’s Christmas. As someone who didn’t get presents as a child…. thank you. I’ll take this as an early reminder to buy for those who need. I’ll also get my kids involved. They bloody need it. if you don’t have time to buy toys and donate them, spend a few pounds on your next shop on some selection boxes and put them in the For Some There’s Therapy For The Rest Of Us There Are Motorcycles Vintage T-Shirt in contrast I will get this food bank box. i do it every year because it’s an easy way to give back 🙂 Split your donation if really worried. Most areas have drives at community centres, hospitals or the like. Ask on FB who is taking donations. Though if you know the families, then think the friend and family donation idea below is fantastic. It also stops you being roped into being so generous year after year. “I had the means to help and I guess I got swept up in the spirit of things and got a bit carried away, oops!”, as someone else said, as long as you’re not smug and you’re genuine about it (which you seem to be!), then there should be no issue. If someone does take issue, then they’re a turd I say this as someone who’s always hated December and January and has almost completely written off Christmas as of last year. My bah is well and truly humbugged! What kind of co workers are going to talk shit about someone donating toys for underprivileged children?! Just do it!
