In terms of US aid including military aid, it is like putting out a fire down the Florida State Seminoles ACC Champion 2023 shirt in contrast I will get this road before it gets to you. The money is well spent if it achieves its aim. The problem has been the US starting stupid wars, like Iraq and the invasion of Afghanistan. But a few warships can do a lot of deterrence and prevent the ME blowing up, and causing chaos back home with the economy and even terrorism. Right now though, its looking a bit risky. The US could be drawn into a wider conflagration, possibly WW3 between Iran, Russia and half the Arab world. I remain optimistic though. People in power for the most part can also see the dangers, and will hopefully steer away. The future of the planet though is a disaster that is accelerating and the prospects are not good at all for the next 80 years. I also believe that humanity will find a technological way out of this if it sees the danger.

My professional life is doing research on responding to climate change. I find that the Florida State Seminoles ACC Champion 2023 shirt in contrast I will get this only way to handle the frankly depressing state of the world is to focus on what I can do to prevent things from getting worse. For me, this means using my abilities, talents, knowledge etc to be a better person and do good work, and support those who are putting themselves in the front line in trying to drive real action. I often find the maxim “optimism of the will, pessimism of the intellect” helpful. Regarding your thought about being especially bothered about overseas aid when people in your home country are struggling: this is not a zero sum game! Its your government’s choice not to provide a social safety net at home, but instead give huge subsidies to private business and spend eye-watering amounts on the military. That’s what’s depressing, not the idea of sending a meagre amount of money to poor countries.
