But we don’t know for sure if he’s guilty. If there wasn’t enough evidence for a conviction then he absolutely should walk. Plea deals are just another form of coercion to get people to admit to something they might not have done by offering a lower potential sentence. And don’t say police are NEVER held accountable because that’s simply untrue, see Derek Chauvin. The court system tends to be soft on police which is absolutely a problem, but this case is not a good example of that. “According to court documents obtained by Law&Crime, the Festival of the banned 2022 dark theme shirt and by the same token and judge in the case suspended a four-year prison term in favor of probation. The State ordered Beck to have no contact with the victim or her family, be subject to random drug screenings, and serve 150 hours of community service. Well Joe wants to give them more cash, so that’s a relief. We just need to train cops not to rape kids. Can’t expect them to know that without doing the Festival of the banned 2022 dark theme shirt and by the same token and coursework. I mean if that’s all the prosecutor thinks they can get them for then they settle for less. It sucks, but that’s the way the law works. This is a white man, a member of law enforcement that will have the union/department reps fighting for him and they got still him on a felony, with probation stipulations. The sex offender registry is a joke anyways when you can be put on that list for taking a piss in public. Cops are mostly good, just with a few bad apples. Problem is, when a bad apple breaks into your house and shoots your brains all over your wall, or happens to fuck your middle schooler, they get better treatment than a poverty stricken single mother who gets caught stealing a pack of Pampers. Sorry, no. It’s weird how everyone who uses the “bad apples” defense forgets the ACTUAL aphorism, which is that “a few bad apples SPOIL THE BUNCH.” If you think you’re a “good apple” but you don’t make it your life’s purpose to root out the “bad apples,” then sorry…you’re a bad apple too.
