Only now in my 20s am I able to see that it didn’t have to be that way. I’ve been working on healing myself from the Father son’s first hero daughter’s first love Denver Nuggets basketball logo shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this damage my parents did on me by watching the gentle parenting content creators who dissect abusive parenting tactics that are (unfortunately) a shared experience for a LOT of people As adults, we select foods that we enjoy. But for some reason we force kids to eat foods that they don’t enjoy, and then we call them “picky eaters” While I was visiting my cousin for the weekend when I was like 8, my aunt made me sit at the table until I ate the green beans she made, before we could go to Blockbuster. It was hours. And they were cold. I still don’t like fuckin green beens This can contribute to disordered eating. People should be encouraged to listen to their bodies, look up “intuitive eating.” Forcing a kid to finish everything on their plate is old school and not a good thing to do. However, sometimes kids have to be redirected to stay on task and eat more, if they’re distracted. But yelling or spanking over eating food is overkill and abusive.

Nothing you are describing is healthy or even proper (Or common even, maybe for you it is but not in general). Sure kids are told to eat a full meal, but nowhere the Father son’s first hero daughter’s first love Denver Nuggets basketball logo shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this size of an adult’s, and it’s for their own benefit, to consume the proper vitamins and fibers needed for their growth. There is no guilt or anything of that sort. A kid’s mind does not fully realize what is good and what is not, so they mostly operate on two concepts: 1) Exploring and 2) Doing what feels good. The latter is often bad because eating sweets for example makes them happy, but is not nutritious, so they must be disciplined to understand the difference, but again in no way as you described, it is borderline abuse. It is not their fault, childhood is a period in our lives where we must be closely guided or we will stick with the two, infant-like concepts of exploring and doing what feels good, which is how you end up with manchildren, generally speaking. I was always served portions I didn’t get to choose and food I didn’t like. I was forced to sit at the table until all my food is gone. I would sit there literally all night I’m talking until 1-2 in the morning as an 8 year old. Luckily we had a dog and I’d slowly sneak the dog the food. I would be so uncomfortably full I don’t even like being full as an adult. Like if I feel my stomach is 100% full it’s uncomfortable and makes me feel pain physically. I only eat to like 80% full bc of being force fed as a kid.
