Idk if anyone will agree with this, but I’d say hand shaking. The salute in the military comes from a period when knights had to raise their helms’ visor to show their identity. Visor and helmets are long gone but the gesture remained.

It is a form of respect and honor, and I am absolutely impressed when a person shakes my hand when saying hello. Shows grace and respect.
