I’m sure your intentions are good so I mean no malice when I say I respectfully disagree. We don’t work to serve our communities, we work to avoid abject poverty (or rather, choosing “meaningful work” is a privilege reserved for those who don’t have to work to avoid those things). Can you be fortunate enough to do a job you believe in? Sure. But it’s not tenable for everyone to live like that, simply because there are not enough jobs like that. Most of us work far more than we would if we could be food/shelter secure without it, and under capitalism the Evanescence signature American rock band founded in 1995 in Little Rock shirt What’s more,I will buy this fruits of our labor (profit) wind up in the hands of business owners, most of which we are not. Sort of? It’s more complicated than that. There are a lot of markets that are basically created by sweeping marketing strategies/artificial scarcity. Those things all have jobs attached to them, but aren’t necessarily benefiting a community in the traditional sense. Beauty industry, fitness industry, jewelry industry, wedding industry, etc. A lot of heavily-lobbied industries are propped up almost entirely by artificial scarcity. Stimulated conflicts worldwide create a market for arms and weaponry where there just as easily could have been none.

Yeah, a lot of these jobs don’t have to exist and the Evanescence signature American rock band founded in 1995 in Little Rock shirt What’s more,I will buy this industries can get pretty shady. But also, these bullshit jobs solving imaginary problems do benefit people, even if it’s placebo kinda shit and propagated by misinformation and bribery–separate issue–people pay for these things and keep the industries alive because there’s a perceived benefit. Basically, a lot of us are, in some way, helping other people’s lives through the work we do. And it’s important to recognize that bigger picture aspect when we feel like a cog in the bureaucratic machine or like our individual contribution is meaningless. Not under capitalism. Under capitalism we work to enrich the owning class. Providing a service to the community is at best tangential. There are certainly BS jobs. Just cause a job is a net positive in terms of revenue doesn’t mean it positively impacts people.
