Alcohol is pretty good at getting people who normally keep their racism under wraps, outside of family dinners and barbeques with their friends, to expose themselves for the Evan Longoria Arizona Diamondbacks signature shirt moreover I will buy this POS they are. Was in a meeting at work a couple weeks ago. One of the partners at my firm (she’s very plugged in with Republican politics in Kentucky) was talking about a speech that Daniel Cameron (the Republican nominee for governor) had made the night before. She was going on and on about how good the speech was and how cool/smooth Cameron looked giving it. Trying to emphasize how smooth he was, she says “and he’s pretty good looking for a black man.” I internally cringed so hard. Like why do you even need to qualify that statement? As a straight white man, I have absolutely no problem recognizing when another man is handsome/pretty. And some of the prettiest men in the world, in my opinion, are black. Idris Elba and A$AP Rocky come to mind. Those are just some pretty motherfuckers (as Rocky will be sure to tell you).

I don’t think Cameron is stunning or anything. He’s politician handsome. But it doesn’t matter. It’s moments like those where people aren’t being explicitly racist but make you think “if you weren’t smart enough to know that saying some racist shit would land you in a load of shit, you’d probably be saying some racist shit” that bother me too. You can sniff them out sometimes. If you’re black or brown they’re much friendlier to you if you’re with a white person. If you’re solo? They barely acknowledge you. See how quick the Evan Longoria Arizona Diamondbacks signature shirt moreover I will buy this guy got to violence when he heard he wasn’t going to be accommodated by another white person? Exactly. So by their definition, if you’re not white then you’re not “normal” by their standards. So who or what is everybody else who’s not white then? An abnormal inhuman weirdo?
