We don’t notice it, but if we could see it clearly, we’d be able to then let it go. This is as if there were a rock in your palm that you didn’t notice you were gripping very tightly out of frustration, with jagged edges, causing your hand to become injured and in pain. Imagine that first moment of discovering there was such a rock in your hand. That sudden, “oh… I’m… holding on to this thing, that’s causing me pain for no good reason” What would happen then? I’ve definitely been severely depressed before but I don’t think it was during the Estreet Band 52 Years Thank You For The Memories Shirt it is in the first place but years I’ve been practicing meditation, but a few years ago I was sicker than I ever was in my life, it was a really bad flu. And I was at a peak of practice where prior to that, I had upwards of 3 hours of daily meditation. If I couldn’t get over that pain, then what was I even doing? So as I’m laying there in bed, the pain was penetrating my bones, I couldn’t move, I was shaking due to a very high fever, it was really bad… I just thought: “What would happen if I just stopped struggling with this? Stopped fighting this discomfort?” And the moment I reflected on the question, was one of the closest things to magic I’ve ever experienced. The trembling instantly stopped, as if it was running on electricity and someone pulled the power on it. My pain started to float away. And I went from feeling like I could die to smiling with ease in a very short time. So don’t give up, just practice. There’s nothing to lose by doing it, and you have a lot to gain, I promise.
