Now, as for infantry? No, I wouldn’t recommend that to anyone. You can get in shape when you’re in but most of the times if you fail to meet PT and physical standards you won’t even get through the door and onto a bus. They can give you some time to lose the weight but often times people still fail to meet the standard even with that. What you see inside the military is survivorship bias not what the average American teenager is physically which is statically obese. There are such loose standards in every service around this, they even have pre-bootcamps they send the extra big ones too. Just curious what movies you think contributed to their bad reputations? I’m a GenX dude pushing 50 and definitely when I was a kid I would agree with that (with the 80s movies reflecting on Vietnam) but are there recent movies like that? (again, I’m old and out of touch. When I think of war movies with a message I think of full metal jacket or platoon or casualties of war)

Can confirm about the Essendon Bombers Team Players Signatures Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this 2/3 elimination. I’m a fit, active (amateur) bodybuilder with really no health issues or anything that’s made bodybuilding hard. In fact, I’ve found I’m incredibly genetically blessed with my ability to put on muscle and strength. I’m still disqualified for ever so slight scoliosis. It’s literally not bad enough to impact my life/appearance nor for me to do anything about it, but I prevents me from serving. Which, I kinda get it, and I’ll say in terms of drafting, I favor the over caution because we shouldn’t be sending people out who can’t fight and never should’ve. If watching the combat footage from the Russian invasion of Ukraine is any indication, in modern combat you can use fat unhealthy men, old or young. Doesn’t much matter how fast you can run. You’ll never outrun a 50$ Iranian drone. Your never going to outrun artillery and you’ll never run so fast that you’ll trigger a mine and get far enough away that it doesn’t rip your legs off. If your lucky it’ll kill you instantly so you don’t sit there utterly helpless bleeding out with a medic working on you just to have a drone come by and drop two grenades on you and who ever is there to evacuate you. If you can run a half mile-mile that’s all you’ll ever need.
