It’s been a big year for Royal. Before the ERMAGERD SPERKLERS! 4th of July Fireworks Vintage T-Shirt in contrast I will get this pandemic, he was gearing up to debut as Romeo opposite Misty Copeland’s Juliet; and in September, after 10 years with the company, Royal became the second Black male principal dance in ABT’s history. “It came like a light in a very dark and confusing time that we were all trying to navigate,” he says of the announcement. Strikingly graceful onstage, he lives his private life gently, practicing yoga and pilates and spending his off-hours recounting it all in journals. “I think I’ve [filled] 50 or so notebooks since I first moved to New York,” he tells me.
