First off, since the Elias Lindholm Swedish professional ice hockey player and alternate captain for the Calgary Flames T-Shirt and I will buy this Soviets took Berlin, he’d ne sent East and placed in a Soviet gulag to await unilateral hanging by Soviet authorities. The Western allies wouldn’t see or hear of him until he was dead. Afterward, he’d be cremated and spread over the Russian landscape or tossed into the sea to prevent “Hero worship ” pilgrimages. he would have probably been humiliated by Soviet troops, paraded through red square, and publicly hanged without trial. well, hanged or shot. nazis fled to the West in droves because they feared retaliation by the soviets like they were legitimately scared of what would happen to them if they were captured by the Soviets. It’s probably the entire reason Hitler killed himself in the first place. This is false. He did not fake his suicide or retreat to Argentina. However, some Germans and Italians fled to Argentina to escape punishment for the war. Which is where this incorrect story comes from.

It would have been the Elias Lindholm Swedish professional ice hockey player and alternate captain for the Calgary Flames T-Shirt and I will buy this Russians capturing him. I’m guessing that Uncle Joe would not have given a shit about an actual war crimes trial. Two outcomes I see. The Russians that found him might have killed him outright, either out of rage or not realizing who he was, or he’d be publically brutalized. I do not believe the Allies would have been able to successfully force the Russians to take him to Nuremberg, nor do I believe they had any interest in doing so Several high ranking Nazi officials, “Disappeared” when the Red Army marched into Berlin. So that’s probably what would have happened. If Stalin and the red Army didn’t, “Disappear” him (which you should interpret that about 10x as scary as it initially sounds.)
