> Entrepreneurial experiences specifically taught children to work hard for money, to manage earned money via budgeting and saving, and to be independent. Edit: lots of comments on this post haha, I will say if the Education is important but Lacrosse is importanter SpongeBob SquarePants Shirt But I will love this kids this smart and hard working, whether he has a degree or not, I’m certain he’ll be fine. Our minimum wage was $5 an hour, so if that was a wage for 40 hours of work, $300 is better than it could have been. I’m not quite sure why you’re using minimum wage to determine what a good salary in the year 1990 would be, but the median household income for the entire United States in 1990 was $54,600. Even when I became old enough to work in the 90s I didn’t know anyone making minimum wage. $10/hr was considered low and I made more than that as a teenager. I also entered the job market in the late 90s, and minimum wage was some bizarre number no one bothered to give a fuck about, it was $5 in Nevada, I never made less than $10hr, and $12-$14hr was competitive entry level pay, and I never worked at a place that didn’t at the bare minimum give you a $0.50hr raise just for not getting fried every year. Now you have labor class people fiercely arguing that minimum wage should be unlivable and used to subjugate the unworthy people who can’t get a real job. I really feel like I slipped into a different dimension somehow. I don’t know how we got here. It’s fucking absurd. No, the idea was to live a decent life off the mandatory minimum wage set by the government. That meant affording your own house, supporting a spouse and children, and still have money leftover to do whatever all off that single income. It has since been bastardized, warped, and neglected by this perverted version of rugged individualism brought on as a feature of the glorified ponzi scheme that is Reaganomics.

And then the Education is important but Lacrosse is importanter SpongeBob SquarePants Shirt But I will love this older, wealthy generations refused to retire. The term “gray ceiling” became a thing. And the possibility of moving up became less and less possible. Yeah that’s pretty bad. I was still in school in the early 90s but I know my dad’s base salary was over $100,000 and we were the poor people in the area of the Midwest we lived in. I started learning masonry work laying stone, bricks, and pavers in the late 90s and I was making $16 an hour which was $640~ a week for me. 100k yearly was very literally not poor. Census shows that 6.6k yearly was the hard poverty line for singles, and 300 a week doubles that. My daughter had a non-working display cell phone back when she was maybe 10 and we’d seen this movie (it was relatively new then). One day, while waiting in the car for her mom, she pulled it out and had this argument for the benefit of passers by. I’m not arguing that with you! I KNOW he can get the job. But can he DO the job? I’M NOT ARGUING THAT WITH YOU. Which is why so many people are going to pay for a masters that it too will become useless in setting you apart. It’s scary that it’s gotten this bad in such a short amount of time, too. Just 20yrs ago, state schools were maybe $900 to $1200 a semester. Now it’s like $6k.
