Just like how Blizzard added content to OW1? They promised they’d keep adding content into that game in exchange for having lootboxes included. Look how that turned out. they did add content for 2 years, and it was all new content like free characters, skins, gamemodes and maps after that time it slowed down because people noticed that you didnt need to spend money to get the paid content which made new content slow down which led to OW2 needing new form of monetization. expansions are literally how companies have done this for years. if they perform well they sell. if they dont they dont. cosmetics dont incentivize developing actual good content, because if they can sell $20 skins why sell a $40 expansion with 1000x times more the effort? are you all dumb?
