Rather than people changing their pronouns, I think we should make an effort to get rid of what we associate with genders. Likenif you’re a dude who wants to wear dresses and make up, then do that. You don’t need to be a woman to wear dresses. Clothes/toys/drinks/etc. don’t need to belong to a gender. I think we’re starting to see this with video games, and it’s great. Video games aren’t something exclusively for guys now, and it’s becoming less and less of a stereotypical “male” hobby, and just a hobby in general that doesn’t belong to one gender or the other. Like, guys, this post is very polite and the OP even says “I would want to be perceived as a man, not because of the privilege but something else”

I don’t really disagree with what you said, but I think some people might just feel like they can relate to OP even if they are a man. I relate to OP while being a man, but I don’t feel the need to invalidate their thoughts and feelings in the process. I have a neighbor who is transitioning to a woman because they feel being a man is too hard. They told several me times it’s easier to a woman and I can guarantee it is not! Since, generally, for women who are trans, being a man means having to mask all the time, and being a woman means so much less mental load, irrespective of societal pressures. The same men who are saying ‘what about men’ are probably the ones who treat women as ‘other’ and don’t see the hypocrisy in what they are saying. Because if you understand, you understand, you don’t belittle and dismiss people with the same experience… Just about every post you see on reddit fetishises boobs (which only women have) to the point it’s absurd to fixate on a body you don’t own as much as that. That’s one huge difference where you see how men and ‘other’ are treated. One body is a public display and the other is never thought of with the same terms of entitlement. But I’ve digressed. If you want to see why people won’t argue with you “like a man,” simply sort this by best and look at the lowest ranked comments.
