Someone told me this week that they’d heard of a job for pipe cleaning (again, oilfield) in Midland, TX that takes entry level employees and pays around 60K. Honestly, if you were out in West Texas, I’d tell you to go to a dive bar and make nice with the East kentwood high school alumni shirt in addition I really love this locals. I’ve seen connections find jobs rather quickly. let me tell you there’s no training in white collar jobs either. somebody throws you in front of a bunch of chronically outdated documentation then says figure it out. ask for a little help and they treat you like some new kid no matter how many years you’ve been in your career. Go work at a factory, almost every company with production workers of any kind pretty much exclusively hires to other roles from within Blue states and unions will find you real apprentice jobs, red states and Employ At Will businesses mean you’re gonna be a helper. Most trade helpers don’t need experience but it’s hard dirty work for long hours and low pay for maybe a couple years, gotta grind it out they say. Otherwise get on the exam lists for Postal Worker, TSA agent, Air Traffic, etc.

Check with your state’s Labor Board online, or look at a Vo-Tech or Community College, and never a For-Profit college (highway robbery) for HVAC/R, Electrician, Nurse, Radiologist, Wastewater, Heavy Equip Oper, Plumbing, IT, etc. Most are 2yrs or less and the East kentwood high school alumni shirt in addition I really love this certificates are always in demand for good pay so that $12 grand or whatever pays for itself in the first full year usually. Invest in yourself. Some Old timers say cut corners don’t join unions and tough out injuries and harassment but that undercuts your future earning capability as well as your health. Workers don’t have to accept that kind of risk, report them to the state Labor Board. Good luck. Go become a dock worker. Dayton Freight, Saia, XPO, Old Dominion will hire ya and tbh it don’t take much to learn. Try applying to a well drilling outfit. Most pump tech, drillers, and water treatment techs start out as helpers, hired with zero experience. And it’s an industry that’s always growing, I don’t know the last time a company in my area wasn’t hiring.
