See the Dump Sports Basketball Nothin But Rim Dirk Novitski T-Shirt it is in the first place but issue here is that the people who care about Drag Race absolutely do not care about commercial TV or the People’s Choice Awards (and lowkey why should we). Hence results like this, not really all that shocked. Yeah I think the simple explanation is that the Venn diagram of people who care about drag race and the people’s choice awards is just two separate circles. Come now, the truly prestigeous awards (the Emmy’s) have been monopolized by drag race, let’s give the common crowd some scraps The Voice is still a thing? A show that literally does absolutely nothing for the contestants and just serves as advertisement for the judges? American Idol actually launched many long term careers for people in like its first 6-7 or so seasons. It really doesn’t make anyone of note anymore but it used to. The Voice basically never has tho. The voice has three contestants of note (that I know of at least)-Melanie Martinez, Cassadee Pope, and Dia Frampton. Dia Frampton and Cassadee Pope had moderate success before they ever went on and Cassadee is the only winner of the three. Had no idea Dia Frampton was on the Voice, that’s awesome. She does a ton of EDM features and pops up in my music pretty often.

I hate them because they absolutely do not reward the Dump Sports Basketball Nothin But Rim Dirk Novitski T-Shirt it is in the first place but best singers anymore, just the biggest sob stories. The Voice is why I know about John Holliday but it’s fucking bananas that he didn’t win, the most incredible male soprano I’ve ever heard. Eh, none of the Drag Race people were there. Honestly, in recent years the People’s Choice Awards have been getting lamer and lamer. It’s the one awards show I really don’t care much about. Drag Race always wins the Emmys and that is way more important and special than winning some lame People’s Choice Award. The Television Academy loves Drag Race! Industry-wide, I think the People’s Choice Awards aren’t that important. If they were to stop, no one would hardly care. For example, does anyone remember the BLOCKBUSTER AWARDS? Those ended before the stores did. Edit: adding that while I believe Anetra & Sasha are amazing, Ariana most likely won due to Scandoval and her very public break up, not so much because of DWTS
