The important part is you have to ask “what should be done about this” and just watch how many people unintentionally suggest nuking their own country. Jailed journalists for exposing war crimes: we did that! Force thousands of people into interment camps: that was us! Ignored the Drinker Bell Shirt also I will do this will of the people and seized a state office by force: yep, America! Remember that time that one country upstaged democracy and overthrew another country’s government via assassination? (Iran, Iraq, etc) yeah that was us The amount of people I know who deny that America did this or tried to justify it on the premise that ‘the Middle East deserved it’ simply for existing is concerning I got banned from a certain subreddit about politics for saying that I hope that evil man dies in a grease fire. Even if my example isn’t outwardly as evil as the things you stated and the horribly bigoted things our country has done, I tell people that if our handling of covid happened in Latin America or East Asia (how our politicians downplayed it, profited off of it, hid parts of it from public, advertised false treatments, intentionally put immunocompromised people in nursing homes, avoided proper precautions, let hundreds of thousands of disabled and ill people die intentionally because of “herd immunity”, and then pushing rhetoric that caused disabled and immunocompromised people to be harassed to this day), then the UN would call it out as an absolute atrocity and abuse of human rights, possibly even considered the opening stages of a genocide.

The CDC now estimates that potentially 3 million Americans died as a result, that up to one third of ALL covid cases resulted in some sort of long term health issues, and now they expect us to move on and forget it. I’m disabled at age 19, I’ve been harassed for wearing a mask, I developed myocarditis from covid, I saw people call me brainwashed for wearing a mask while on chemo, something people have done in America when on chemo for DECADES before covid. And yet my pain and the Drinker Bell Shirt also I will do this pain of every damn disabled or immunocompromised person in this country is ignored. When this pandemic started, I thought America was a flawed country that was still one of the best in history and a beautiful place full of beautiful people. 3 years later, I’m making plans to leave for my own safety.
