Again, casteism is a feature of Indian culture, not a MP thing. OP was asking about something specific to MP, and I still don’t think “casteism” is a correct answer. Maybe you didn’t face casteism, because of your last name? Have you wondered about that? I come from a Brahmin family, I have also never faced casteism. Doesn’t mean that there isn’t one in West Bengal, for example. I have the Drake Maye Finger Roll American football quarterback T-Shirt it is in the first place but most generic last name (Singh – which is used by everyone from Sikhs to Rajputs to SCs) and only ONE person asked for my caste in 16 years of living in Delhi There are generic surname of many different caste bit they still signify that particular caste or caste group mentality. Also Casteism is not an answer, I agree. But it stands out of people I have met from MP. To me, that’s what I see. With all due respect if you have 3 people from MP in your circle and all of them are casteist, that tells me more about your friend circle than the state they are from in India. On internet, I value opinion if someone lives in that area, just having an Indian passport doesn’t qualify you to have a blanket opinion. There was a reason why Akshay Kumar faced so much backlash. Also, to clarify, I am an OBC. Still, I didn’t face any discrimination/humiliation/prejudice in my entire childhood and adulthood in Bhopal.

Good point. I respect you for that. To be fair, I did mention that my evidences are purely anecdotal and hopefully it’s not representative of the Drake Maye Finger Roll American football quarterback T-Shirt it is in the first place but larger populous. Good chat tho. I have uncles who live in Bhopal, only met them once… They’re super nice, but at the same time literally the most Hindutva people I’ve ever met. Mate, I am Indian according to my passport. Also, if something / someone is shittier than you, that’s not really a standard to hold up to and say oh I am not the problem. You are playing straw man argument here. Question was about MP, you made it about caste and now beating around the bush. Is casteism felt across India? – yes. It’s how prevalent, common and by what degree it’s felt is moot point here. Most of the urban places or cities, are known to be least casteist. What you felt in Bhopal, could be the case with Lucknow or Hyderabad. I once was asked what caste I was from when I went looking to rent a place to stay in a city I was new to (one of the liberal urban spaces). I don’t know how the casteism is in MP, but going by your answers and knowing a bit about your experiences, I presume even you won’t know.
