I mean, anti-abortion laws are inherently a violation of medical privacy. It should be a decision between a woman and her doctor, but it isn’t if you live in a state where it’s illegal. Don’t get me wrong, they’d have to get ahold of your phone or get the Dragon Ball Group Shot 2024 Shirt and I love this data from the app developers, and that would require a warrant (but the app developer might be able to tell them to fuck off, idk). But it could happen. You’re fine if you live in a pro-choice/blue state, but if anyone else ITT is in one of the states with abortion ban I definitely recommend deleting all your data and then the app itself! With no intention of sticking my oar in, but just something that came to mind, further to your points: Data breaches are increasingly a thing. It’s just about conceivable that, say, a hacker group funded by extreme right-wing interests, or by foreign interests with a desire to sow discord and further divide and destabilize the US, could target app developers or their parent companies. Some of these apps are relatively small by “big data” standards and might be comparatively easy targets. In that case definitions around “medical data” would be largely moot. Wild that we’ve come to a point where such a seemingly tinfoil hat-ish scenario may actually be plausible now. In any case, we’re rooting for y’all up here in Canada. Admittedly partly out of self-interest lest we get inundated by second-hand FreedumbTM, but also out of genuine concern and sympathy.

Just to add in here.. if you’re using apple health for tracking the Dragon Ball Group Shot 2024 Shirt and I love this data is encrypted and cannot be extracted from Apple as they do not have access to it. But the cops could get a warrant for your phone. Not all period tracking apps are created equal so it’s important to research. What she said. Delete period apps. the Apple health tracker is safe to use, since the data is store locally and is encrypted. I imagine this is probably true for other default stock trackers too. In terms of data security in this case, yes. The concern with third party apps is that they could be subject to warrants requesting data stored on servers, and also that they sell and share user data. There’s much less of a concern with locally stored data in control of only the user, where Apple (or whoever else) literally can’t access it without gaining access to your device. In that case it’s about as dangerous as tracking your periods using a pen and a calendar. My god that’s messed up. Sending love to all my yankie sisters. The idea that you shouldn’t use a convenience because it could be criminalising if you have a medical procedure, that’s so fucked.
