Another point, I hardly see any dads carry or hold their daughters anymore. I told mines that I am going to hold her and carry her for as long as I can, because 1 day she’s going to be either too big or me too old. I toss my 11 year old over my shoulder still, usually because she decided to play dead the Dot Day 2022 Bees Happy International Dot Day T-Shirt besides I will buy this second I told her to go get ready for bed… So I toss her over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes. As long as it’s not harmful (e.g. hitting sibling when angry) it’s important to allow them the space to have emotions. Even though we live in a society that demands more women in science and math, my daughter won’t do science stuff and prefers unicorns…no matter how many times I try. My two nieces: one wants to be a construction worker and grow big and tall like daddy, one wants glitter and unicorns, and once called so say she was changing her name to “Yuna! Short for unicorn!”
