Typically buy American eagle and old navy. If you search r/plussize for threads on mom jeans, there is some advice. I think this is a pretty common fit concern and I think more could be done in terms of guidance on how to address it. I’m not sure if you have an apple body type but I do, and I’m size 14 too. All of the dressing for midsize / apple bodies in jeans threads are from before the straight leg trend and they could bear updating 🙂 My best tip is to look for juniors lines if you need narrower hip to stomach ratio, as juniors jeans are often stretchy and cut for narrower hips. Or you can seek jeans that are cut like skinny jeans to the upper thigh and loosen lower.

I need help dressing for my 40th birthday – outdoor party at a brewery. Currently, weather appears to be 74 during the Don’t follow me i do stupid things skiing vintage T-Shirt but in fact I love this day, rain in the morning but should dry out by the 4pm party start. Low will be in the 30s but sunset not until almost 7:30 and I’d guess we’ll wrap up by 8 or so. There are tents and heaters outside for us. My style is pretty casual, but I recently lost a bit of weight and would like to look nice since it’s my party. I’d guess I’m between a 12-14 apple shape. No idea where to start looking/what to look for. I don’t wear heels. Thank you! I like this idea! For some reason I was stuck on either a dress or jeans and neither felt right in terms of dressiness. This seems like a really good in between option. Thanks!
