It was a student-esque existence and I couldn’t save significant amounts, but I never felt like I was struggling to survive. Take off a few grand a year and I would probably have been closer to paycheck-to-paycheck living though. Rent wasn’t 50% of my paycheck then and wouldn’t need to be now. I can see plenty of rooms in flatshares going for £700-900 pcm in zone 2 locations on SpareRoom, some of which are bills included. Im earning £55k. Renting a one bed apartment outside London by myself. Havent saved anything in a year even though I don’t feel like I’m splurging money anywhere. I am doing some foreign investment but its hardly anything. Thinking of just packing it up and go back home, stay with my parents and do freelance online work. I’m earning the Don’t Bother Me Right Meow Play Game Cat Vintage T-Shirt also I will do this same and single as well but living in a studio zone 2 and can say I’m saving a bit, my costs overall <1800 per month. You may need analysing all of your costs.

Last year, I swapped jobs and moved from making 26k to 34k. I was making around 30k with overtime at my old job, and the Don’t Bother Me Right Meow Play Game Cat Vintage T-Shirt also I will do this amount of stress I experienced was too much to a stage. I had to be put on meds due to my poor MH. I make £2160(?) a month, my portion of rent and utilities is around £900/£1k, I put £200 a month to my save to buy (may transfer that to a LISA, I’m still debating). I’m definitely not starving, can afford new clothes when I need it, I don’t stress. When I was on 26k, I still managed to go on a nice holiday (always in September, as it wasn’t a peak season anymore). And by nice, I mean Mexico or DR. Before I get down voted etc, I had an episode in my life when I got paid and was already halfway through my overdraft, but I managed to pay it all off and now I will never let this happen again. I realised that it was the consumptionism that was affecting my finances, I had to buy something just for the sake of spending money.
